Screen Printing Steps
Are you curious about how we complete our screen printing steps? In this article, we will be discussing the Athletic Shop’s process of screen printing a t-shirt.
Our Screen Printing Steps:
- Selecting Apparel – the customer will tell us what kind of apparel they have in mind (a coach’s polo, t-shirt, football jersey, etc.)
- Artwork Creation – we work with the customer to establish & accomplish their goals of what the artwork should look like.
- Art Proofing – we send the customer a PDF of the artwork on the garments they have purchased.
- Art Revisions – If needed, we offer up to 2 art revisions free of charge.
- Art Approval – Once the artwork is approved, the custom work order is completed & the job is scheduled for production.
- Screen Prep – We create the custom artwork seperations to specs & send the art files to our DTS (Digital To Screen) using our digital dark room capabilities, we can produce a screen every 3 minutes. Each screen is meticulously inspected to ensure the best possible quality.
- Design Setup & Registration – No matter how many shirts we are printing, each job must be set up & registered to receive a high quality print. The set up times on each design vary by how many colors, what type of fabric/ink is being used, & the complexity of the artwork.
- Quality Control – At the end of the process, we inspect each garment for defects. If a defect is detected the apparel is replaced most of the time before the order makes it out of our building.
- High Volume Orders – We set up our automatic screen printing presses to ensure the fastest turnaround & highest quality prints. We can average anywhere between 300 – 600 prints per hour depending on the type of design.
- Low Volume Orders – We set up our automatic screen printing presses or manual presses to achieve a quick turnaround time & high quality print.
