Ways To Give Back to Veterans
Have you ever found yourself wanting to help a Veteran, but not sure how? We have compiled a list of ideas for you to implement! No matter what your budget is, you will find that acts of service are a great place to start.
- Send a letter or care package – Kind words can go a long way! For the cost of a postage stamp, you could make their day.
- Fix them a treat or dinner – From cookies to a full dinner, people love to receive food.
- Give them a Veteran’s Day Deal – If you own a business, give them a discount, or talk to your employer about doing so.
- Support Veteran owned businesses – From shopping local to online, there are many Veteran owned businesses that could use your support.
- Buy their groceries – I’m sure you’ve seen many Veterans in the grocery store wearing their Veteran’s hats. Pick up the tab!
- Gift Cards – Do you know where they like to shop? Give them a gift card! If you’re not sure what kind of gift card to buy, pick one up for their local grocery or auto parts store.
- Volunteer – VA hospitals, nursing homes, etc.
- Donate to local Veteran organizations – Do your research & donate to whichever Veteran organization you find reputable.
